Dr. Louis E. Halkias
Dr. Louis E. Halkias is originally from Chicago, IL having received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in 1990 and his dental degree from Northwestern University in 1994. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Master of Science degree at The Ohio State University in 1998. After completion of his residency he joined Oral Surgery Associates in 1998.
Dr. Halkias is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is a member of local, state and national societies in his profession. He served as president of the Hellenic American Dental Society in 2009. He has lectured widely and has had numerous publications on various topics in his specialty. He currently serves as a peer reviewer of articles for submission in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology.
Dr. Halkias is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he is actively involved in resident education as well as an Attending Surgeon at the University of Illinois Hospital (UI Health).
Dr. Halkias is married and has two children. He enjoys Chicago sports and spending time with his family.
